The Awakening of the Kraken

The sea had been restless all morning, as if something ancient stirred beneath the waves. Sailors whispered that the water could remember, that it could hold grudges longer than any living soul. When the sky darkened and the first roar of thunder rolled across the ocean, the ship slowed, and every man aboard felt an unseen presence rise from the depths. The surface swelled. The water trembled. Then the world split open. The Kraken emerged like a nightmare given flesh, a mountain of living darkness wrapped in seawater and spite. Its tentacles reached toward the ship with terrible purpose, not driven by hunger alone, but by something older. A command written into the bones of the world. The sailors could only watch as the beast claimed what it believed belonged to the deep. Wood shattered. Men screamed. The sea roared with a voice more powerful than any storm.
